Happiness - Get luckier in 2018...

...how to boost your good fortune and happiness this year.  I recently read an article in January's issue of Good Housekeeping magazine entitled, Get Luckier in 2014 by Betsy Rapoport (pg. 90-91) which really intrigued me and I've spent a lot of time pondering the idea of 'luck' since then.  Can we really bring ourselves more luck...and happiness?  I came up with ten ways that you can bring more luck and happiness into your life and...in honor of lucky St. Patrick's Day, I thought I'd share my research with my missionary and his companion...and all of YOU!  Enjoy!

  1. Thanks so much for sharing your talents. I have MS and some things are a little harder for me to do than others. I appreciate your ideas and love your blog. I am wondering if there is a way to change the 4 to a 5? I would love to send this to my daughter serving in Virgina but also to an Elder in my son's mission who is the only member in his family and his mom passed away a week before Thanksgiving my son has been home since August but because this elder has had no family support at all and then his mom died. The MP asked hum if there was anyone he could call to help him through it and he said he wanted to call my son in the states. So he did. When my son told me this I quickly put together a Christmas package for him and prayed he would get it for Christmas. Well he did and the Skype call he did on Christmas was to my son. He is from Spain originally then parents divorced and at 9 he moved with his mom to Columbia. We was baptized at 18 and a year later left on his mission. So when he called my son at Christmas he told him he got something in the mail for the first time and it wasn't just a letter it was a real package. He was so thrilled he showed everyone. All the members all his missionaries in his Zone at the Christmas party. He actually brought it to that. So he doesn't speak English but I asked someone how to write what unwanted to say in Spanish. Could have asked my Don obviously but he was back in Logan at school and I wanted to send something as fast as I could. My son didn't know I even did this until the elder called on Christmas. He has about 10 months left and I was thinking a St Patrick's package would be easy and fun. But I don't know how to make the printables. So I would like to use yours but with the correct year. It would be even cooler if I could find someone to do it in Spanish. So could you give me some advice please of where I could go and show them your printable and have them do one with a 5 and maybe one in Spanish? I am just wondering if places like Kinkos or somewhere could do it. But if you think they would charge a lot I can send it in English. He has an American missionary living in his apartment that can tell him what it says. Thanks for any help you can give me. I really appreciate it.

  2. Hi Lisa! I've changed the cover to 2015 as requested (not sure why that hadn't occurred to me) and I'm working on a Spanish version. Just need to have it proofed by someone who speaks Spanish! Can you send me your email address to shalanb@comcast.net and I'll let you know when it's posted to the blog.

  3. Now can you do a 6? I have another son out ( my baby) would love to do this again. My email is donnynum1fan@gmail.com I have a sister missionary without a mom in Chile too now. I found by accident and would still love this in Spanish for her. Her mom died 3 months before she left. She's from Texas. I have never met her either. Thanks so much
